In 2006 the Lexington Group established the Richard C. Overton Research Fellowship to honor one of the organization’s founders and a leading scholar of America’s railroads.
Awards in amounts of up to $4,000 each are available to qualified applicants to help underwrite expenses connected with scholarly research in the history of transportation.

The Overton Prize Committee
Current members of the Overton Prize Committee are Simon Cordery, John Friedmann, Daniel Rust and Ron Goldfeder. Committee members evaluate the year’s applications and announce the winners by September 1, 2026.
